Liberty, Egality and Fraternity
I Have A Dream
Kalimat di atas merupakan judul pidato yang disampaikan Martin Luther King dalam perjuangannya mewujudkan kesetaraan hak asasi bagi kaum kulit hitam di Amerika Serikat. Bersama Malcom X, King dijuluki CIA sebagai “dua mesias kulit hitam”. “Kita harus mencegah kebangkitan dua mesias kulit hitam ini”, demikian pungkas J. Edgar Hoover, kepala CIA kala itu. Dalam pidatonya, King ajeg mengulang perkataan I have a dream sebagai berikut;
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."
Segera setelahnya, kalimat retorik King di atas (I have a dream), menjiwai pergerakan seluruh kaum kulit hitam di saentaro Amerika Serikat, dan apa yang mereka cita-citakan pun terwujud kemudian, meski memang, sebelumnya harus dibayar mahal dengan kematian dua mesias kulit hitam tersebut: Martin Luther King dan Malcom-X.

salam hangat bung wahyu budi nugroho, masih ingat dengan saya... hem hem hem
BalasHapuswhen i read your article, directly i remember what the founding leader of Indonesia (Sukarno) said in his speech.
"100 orang hanya bermimpi, tetapi berikanlah aku 10 pemuda maka akan kuguncang dunia!” but most of the people in Indonesia, the have forgotten this word.
this word not only a dream but more than that, the meaning has an awesome thing we should realize. Sukarno lead this country/ nation and had success when he was 40 years old. but looks now days, our leader has more than 50 years old age. so whats going on?.. we need a fresh leader such as SOEKARNO having brought us from the imperialism to the freedom, we need a young leader. we should consider bout it...but by the way, your written has made me wake up from my day dreaming,
there is a wise word saying: the differences of having success is only how strong they have a dream...
nice post.. mr. wahyu budi nugroho...
of course i still remember you mr. darobi, euh, hehe.
BalasHapuswell, thanks for your comment. as i know, soekarno said that, "berikan aku seribu pemuda, maka memindahkan gunung semeru, tapi bawakan aku sepuluh pemuda yang cinta tanah airnya, maka menggoncang dunia!" (well, i ever be soekarnoist when sit at senior high school).
i absolutely agree with you sir, but i also want to tell you that actually Indonesia is the easiest country to be changed. in our country, to held transformation (reformation) only need 100.000 persons demonstrants. while in Phillipina they need 500.000, Iran a million, and the most expensive country to be changed is Romania, to ending the dictatorial government of Causcaseau there, needed a million and half of demonstrants.
Unfortunetly, the spirit of young soekarno represented in other world, they are chavez and moralez which succesed transform their country to be better and better.
warm wishes for you, mr. Darobi
nice discussion ;)
